Starting Over

Hi! My name is Jeanette Olsson. I was born in Sweden but raised in Idaho in the United States. I speak Swedish and English fluently. I have been to Sweden and Norway to visit many times since I became an adult. I love being there because I get to eat all the food I love.

My father was Swedish and my mother is Norwegian. I love both countries but my heart belongs to Sweden first. I recently became an American citizen which I am proud to be as I have lived, worked and had a life there since the age of 6.

Now it’s time for a new adventure as circumstances have changed. After over 20 years of marriage I find myself divorced. It has been devastating and yet I have a growth opportunity. I also had the chance to live a dream I have had since I was a little girl. A chance to live in Sweden for at least a year. I packed my belongings, booked a flight to Malmö, Sweden and ended up staying 18 months. It was the adventure of a lifetime but another failed relationship brought me back to the United States, but this time it would be Arizona.

Arizona is a long way from Washington. The weather is very different. There are challenges to overcome. I found a great job, but this comes with the side effect of less time to visit others. The kids are all busy and I have to spread myself around a bit as my parents are in Idaho, the kids in Washington and siblings and friends in different places.

This blog is my story of the adventures, heartaches, learning and everything in between. I hope you will enjoy reading about my adventures, as I navigate a new world of beginnings for myself. I have lots of learning to do, adventures to go on and I hope you find it enjoyable when you join me.
